Nice to meet you and welcome!
I’m Evgeniya Zy, an author, illustrator, designer, and proud mother. I studied at Parsons School of Design in New York.
I began as a graphic designer, drawn to the way thoughtful design shapes stories — how color, rhythm, and visual identity can carry meaning. That discipline gave me an eye for clarity and a love for building narratives filled with purpose and beauty.
Motherhood changed everything. It opened my eyes to a truth I hadn’t fully grasped before: we are not born knowing how to parent. Mothers and fathers alike often feel alone with the questions — Am I doing this right? How do I talk about feelings? How do I make time with my child truly count?
That realization pushed me to create books that go beyond the story on the page. I wanted to give parents tools — ways to connect with their children, even at the end of a long day. Each picture book invites families to pause together: the story opens the door, and the activities at the end — simple games, prompts, and exercises — help turn reading into real conversation and playful learning.
The same values guide all my Art and Design work — humility, love, kindness, knowledge, aesthetics, and connection. Whether I’m shaping a picture book, designing a visual identity, or creating an art print, I see it all as part of one story: the way we perceive the world and connect with one another.
Art and design are not separate from life — they are the lens through which we learn, imagine, and grow. My hope is to create a welcoming creative space where families, readers, and collaborators alike can find something that speaks to them — a story to share, an image to cherish, an idea to build on together.
